Special Program Assistance for Needed Tactical Officer Assets

The National Tactical Officers Association is pleased to provide an equipment donation program Special Program Assistance for Needed Tactical Officer Assets (SPANTOA) for SWAT Teams throughout the United States. The program is designed to provide important life saving equipment to SWAT/tactical teams that may otherwise not be able to obtain this equipment. All applicants are required to have a valid NTOA Team Membership to be eligible for grant programs. NTOA Individual membership holders are not eligible for this program.

Applicants will be chosen up to and including: the completeness of the application, statistical data on operations, team size vs. department size vs. population served, and the narrative should be at least 300 words as to why you should be selected -- narratives should be detailed and specific as to how the equipment will help your team (specific grants may have additional requirements).

Forced Entry Tactical Training Grant:

(2) Seats for explosive breaching class - Normal Tuition is $1200 per officer.
This Explosive Breaching Course is designed for the SWAT or EOD Officer wishing to gain the knowledge and expertise which will enable them to design an Explosive Breaching Program for their agency, or expand on an existing Explosive Breaching Program already in place. Before attending this course, students must show proof of prior explosive handling training. This could include: certification from a recognized Explosive Handler / Breaching course, or be a currently trained EOD Officer. All other students wishing to attend this course will be required to attend the one day Explosive Familiarization Course, prior to attending the five day Tactical Explosive Breacher Course.

This class will take place in Broken Arrow, OK co-hosted by Broken Arrow PD. The dates are August 25-30, 2008.

Tactical Electronics Grant: (1) PCSS1-WMM and (1) MMV

The PCSS1 Wireless Pole Camera provides ultimate flexibility for tactical teams. The lightweight system has no cumbersome belt packs or external cables. Tactical Electronics Pole Cameras are used all over the world by various EOD and SWAT teams. Wireless operation of the Pole Camera is simple. The unit can be placed on-target and viewed wirelessly with any Tactical Electronics monitoring option. The small handle assembly houses the wireless transmitter and there is no external antenna needed for operation. Color & b/w waterproof camera heads are included with every Pole Camera kit. The color camera head has infrared LEDs for enhanced viewing in darker areas. The black & white camera head has IR LEDs and is essential for viewing in low-light or no-light situations.

The Wireless Wrist Mounted Monitor is our most popular monitoring option. The small LCD screen has the highest resolution of any of our video monitors. The Wrist Monitor is completely wireless. The wireless receiver of the WMM is built into the unit, so there are no cables required! The Wrist Monitor allows operators to switch between four channels that can monitor four camera systems simultaneously. Although the Wrist Monitor is our smallest screen size at 2.5 inches, the clarity of the display is exceptional! The LCD screen will display black & white, color, or infrared video.

The Wireless Monocular Micro Viewer is our newest and smallest monitoring option. The MMV is a convenient option that allows the operator to keep the unit tucked away in a pocket or hanging on a lanyard. The MMV can operate in wireless mode with any Tactical Electronics Video Inspection Equipment. The wireless receiver is built into the monitor, so there are no cables required! The MMV allows operators to switch between four channels that can monitor four camera systems simultaneously.

Trijicon Grant: (5) RX30 Reflex Sights

The RX30 is a non-magnified, self-luminous tactical sight. The magnification of the sight is 1x. Adjustments are one click per inch @ 100 yards. The reticule color in the sight is amber, which is illuminated by fluorescent fiber optics. The lamp is a green tritium lamp. The optic attaches onto mount for rail-equipped weapons.
