The ALS09NR is a ergonomically designed and cost effective steel body device utilizing the extremely reliable M201 A1 fuze. The ALS09NR A1 combines a 1 to 1.5 second delay igniter with a highly refined flash powder, producing a report of 169 to 174 decibels as measured at 5 feet and a brilliant disorientation flash. The flash powder mixture is extremely pure and is rated at a 35% power factor of TNT by weight. The body of this device is made completely from Steel and the Explosive chamber is water resistant because of its high tensile strength, .030 inch thick plastic charge tube.

A 40 mm cartridge designed to fire a Non-pyrotechnic 55-gram two part spin stabilized projectile filled with CS. This round permits the Non-pyrotechnic introduction of chemicals into areas with potential fire hazards The projectile is designed to be fired through dry wall, hollow core doors, or glass. This round is not to be fired at individuals .
