Patrol/Tactical
Shotgun (3 days) |

This course is designed
for the patrol and/or tactical officer wishing to improve
operational skills and understanding of the shotgun as a
primary weapon. It is a fast-paced and rigorous course with
innovative and functional applications for the issued duty
shotgun. The student will learn the skills crucial to handling
the shotgun on the move and in searches, transitioning between
firearms, engaging moving targets, shooting from a vehicle
and entry tactics. A variety of shooting drills will also
enhance the student’s familiarity and precision
with the shotgun. |

Patrol/Tactical
Shotgun Instructor Certification (3 days) |
| |
This course
will provide the law enforcement firearms instructor a diverse
and comprehensive exposure to tactical shotgun operations
and student learning techniques. The instructor portion of
the course gives an overview of adult learning techniques
and how they can be applied to the tactical student. The
student/instructor will be shown basic and advanced shotgun
operational techniques and will learn the skills crucial
to handling the shotgun on the move and in searches, transitioning
between firearms, engaging moving targets, shooting from
a vehicle and entry tactics. The student instructors will
then be given the opportunity to develop lesson plans and
run the class through their lesson plans. |

Shoothouse
Instructor Certification (3 days) |
| |
This course
is intended to provide the student with all the concerns
and areas of importance with regard to live fire shoothouse
operations. The student will be provided with instruction
pertaining to safety inspections, personnel positioning,
target placement and entry methods. The student will be exposed
to all the elements required for the safe operation of live
fire training scenarios. |

Submachine
Gun Instructor Certification (6 days) |
| |
This end
user portion of this course is designed to enhance knowledge
and employment options of the submachine gun by tactical
or narcotics team personnel. The instructor certification
portion details methods of classroom and range instruction
for teaching the theory and operation of the submachinegun.
Each student will be required to demonstrate marksmanship
and instructional proficiency with the weapon prior to certification. |

Handgun User (3 Days) |
| |
This three-day
course is designed to improve on basic defensive shooting
techniques and marksmanship fundamentals. Emphasis will be
placed on safety, accuracy, drawing, firing and reloading
under varying time constraints. |

Tactical
Handgun User Instructor Certification (5 days) |
| |
The five-day
tactical handgun instructor certification class will prepare
students to present the handgun user curriculum by enhancing
the student’s ability to teach and the quality of the
material being taught.
Note: The Handgun User and Instructor courses can be taught
together in a 6-day class. |

Tactical
Precision Long Rifle I (5 days) |
| |
This course is designed to expose tactical personnel to
the proper deployment and techniques for a long rifle position.
Topics to be covered include weapons selection and maintenance,
rapid deployment issues, use-of-force issues and coordinated
fire techniques. This course of instruction will stress the
fundamentals of marksmanship and precision shooting. Practical
range training will include shooting at moving targets, range
estimation and various courses of fire. |

Tactical
Precision Long Rifle II (5 days) |
| |
Police
and/or SWAT long rifle personnel who possess a working knowledge
of their equipment (rifle/optics) and the ability to apply
basic fundamentals with assigned department equipment are
encouraged to advance their skills in this course. Prior
successful completion of a basic precision marksman course
is recommended. From cold bore considerations of a basic
long rifle deployment and coordinated fire, this course employs
a realistic training regimen that trains and test participants
to their potential. The course will begin with a practical
application of the basic marksmanship skills. Students must
successfully complete a 20-round qualification course. |

Tactical
Precision Long Rifle Instructor Certification I (5
days) |
| |
This course is designed for experienced law enforcement
long riflemen whose job description requires development
of their instructor skills. Successful completion of the
course will be dependent upon performance of various long
rifle skills as well as demonstration of practical instruction
needed for countersniper techniques. Topics to be covered
include weapons selection and maintenance, use-of-force issues,
rapid deployment techniques, coordinated fire, hide and firing
position selection, cold bore rifle data, rapid bolt manipulation,
extreme angle shooting, scope validation data, moving targets,
range estimation, target identification, dim light and no
light scenarios, as well as assorted qualification and stress
courses of fire. Students must pass at least one of the three
courses of fire presented. Instructors will work closely
with all individuals to facilitate success. Students must
also successfully present a one-hour block of related material
instruction. |

Tactical
Precision Long Rifle Instructor Certification II
(5 days) |
| |
Utilizing
the skills and techniques learned in the previous course,
students will be expected to perform to their highest levels
of ability. All advanced long rifle skills taught in the
Instructor Certification I course will be covered in more
depth, with emphasis on stalking and stress shooting. Students
will have three opportunities to pass qualification courses
and each individual is required to self-remediate as necessary
in order to pass. The “teaching of” component
will also be required. |
